I want to download music to my mp3 player?

I already have the music that I want on my mp3 downloaded to my media player on my computer. My question is this, does the volume on my media player affect the way the music will sound on my mp3? Should I just zero the volume on my media player while downloading? Any advice for better mp3 listening…Thank’s for any help/advice
